SKEENA RIVER, BC

The Skeena River is one of the major fish bearing rivers in British Columbia, although sadly the fish have declined in recent decades due to over-fishing and warming waters.

HAIDA GWAII, BC

Haida Gwaii is an archipelago located of the North-west coast of British Columbia, just south of Alaska. It has been the home of the Haida for thousands of years.

COMOX, BC

Comox is located on the traditional territory of the K'omox First Nation., on the East Coast of Vancouver Island. The harbour features salt marshes, which are important habitat for birds and fish, and also filter pollutants, stabilize sediments and store carbon.

UCLUELET, BC

Ucluelet is located on the wild West Coast of Vancouver Island, where I spent many hours roaming the outer beaches with a pack of neighbourhood children. The name, Ucluelet, means 'People of the Safe Harbour', and is the traditional territory of the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nation.

SPAIN

These paintings were inspired by photos I took of the countryside while travelling by bus in the Andalusia region of southern Spain, with the exception of 'Olive Tree Hill' which was painted 'en plein air'.
